The more I learn about Satanism, the less horrendous it seems. Not even kidding.

This is the horrible thing about labels. Anton LaVey was using Satan as a metaphor for his new religion and because of it, it gets this horrible reputation. Non-theistic Satanists by definition do not believe in Satan or any higher power as an entity. It is a metaphor for taking what is known in religious anthropology as a “left hand path” where the goal is to better yourself thru indulgence. But nowhere is it said that true Satanism is about hurting people and raising hell.
LaVey Satanism is actually a pretty solid religion. (Btw to follow a religion, you don’t need to believe in a deity. A religion by definition is just a dogma.) You probably know people who just by the way they act and think, could identify as Satanists and not have to change anything about themselves or their lifestyle to conform with the Satanic dogma.
So yeah….. Long story short…. Do your fucking research and stop taking labels/symbols at face value.
